The exhibition, Neither all of nothing, nor nothing of all, offers sixteen works whose subjects are exclusively clouds. In the clouds there are two main characteristics. First of all, the shapes: no one can’t avoid seeing and recognizing images. On the other hand, clouds are known for being variable. It seem they have an engine inside themselves, an internal force that changes their edges. Through the clouds it’s possible to feel the sense of precariousness, the intrinsic tendency to become “other”. In Gabriele Napoli’s works, the representation of clouds is caught in their rarefaction. This tension is emphasized by the artist through a unique use of graphite, a primary mineral which arised from the metamorphism of rich sediments in organic substances. The two-toned of the works is characterized by refraction, a typical characteristic of both graphite itself and any fleeting images, too. The artist tries to trap the picture in the frame but this still an useless action. What remains is the thin perception of this tactile traces.
